Liam Gallagher has remained silent after System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian pointed the finger at Oasis for England’s World Cup semi-final elimination.
England lost Wednesday’s match against Argentina during the American metal band’s performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As news filtered through to the crowd that England had taken the lead against Argentina, Mr Malakian acknowledged the moment during the middle section of Dreaming. chanting “I heard England just scored” and “Let’s go England” to the audience.
However, the guitarist then issued a warning to the London crowd, adding: “If you guys lose, I blame Oasis.”

The remark reignited a long-standing rivalry between the two groups, with footage from the concert subsequently circulating online showing the band’s reaction as England’s tournament hopes crumbled.
England’s World Cup aspirations came to a devastating end on Wednesday night as Thomas Tuchel’s side fell 2-1 to Argentina in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Three Lions appeared destined for their first World Cup final since their 1966 triumph when Anthony Gordon found the net 55 minutes into the match.
Yet Argentina mounted a stunning late comeback, with Enzo Fernandez producing a superb equaliser in the 85th minute before Lautaro Martinez headed home the winner during nine minutes of added time.

The defeat marked England’s third semi-final loss since their sole World Cup victory six decades ago, having also exited at the same stage in 1990 and 2018.
Mr Tuchel has faced criticism for his second-half substitutions and tactical decisions, though the German manager insisted he had “no regrets” about his approach.
Despite Malakian’s jibe, Mr Gallagher opted not to respond directly to the System Of A Down guitarist’s comments when addressing England’s elimination on X.
“Respect to the lads it’s nobody’s God given right to win the WC,” the Oasis frontman wrote. “Congratulations to Argentina best team won onwards n sideways.”

Mr Gallagher, who had confidently predicted an England victory before the match, also offered his analysis of what the national team requires to finally lift the trophy again.
“England won’t win a WC until we get street wise and that goes for the managers,” he posted. “It’s all got too technical let the kids run wild.”
His measured response stood in contrast to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, whose disappointed reaction at the Atlanta stadium went viral after cameras captured him pouting and shaking his head following Mr Fernandez’s equaliser.
The animosity between Oasis and System Of A Down stretches back more than two decades, sparked by Noel Gallagher’s scathing assessment of the Armenian-American group.

During a US radio interview around the release of System Of A Down’s acclaimed 2001 record Toxicity, the elder Gallagher brother declared: “I’m actually alive to hear the s***tiest band of all time.”
System Of A Down seized the opportunity to settle old scores at their first Tottenham show on July 13, dedicating their track about a tapeworm to their Britpop rivals.
“Just for fun today, I’m going to name the tapeworm ‘Oasis,'” Mr Malakian told the crowd, before encouraging fans to chant: “Puuull Oasis out of your ass.”The band’s London performances received widespread acclaim, with NME awarding the concerts five stars.
