The Green Party has been reported to counter-terror police by an internal whistleblower over extremism fears.

Concerns have grown that the party is becoming a hotbed for anti-Jewish sentiment and extremism.

One person in the party took the bold step to report their fellow members to counter-terrorism police, after groups in the party called for those seeking any kind of Jewish state in Palestine to be regarded as racist, the Daily Mail has revealed.

The Green Party has seen an influx of hard-left activists joining membership in recent months in retaliation to Labour’s stance of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

This has led to a push towards Pro-Palestinian factions to declare themselves as ‘anti-Zionist’ which has concerned some members, who worry the party fall victim to extremism, such as antisemitism.

With the backing of the Greens For Palestine group, the “Zionism is Racism” motion is urging the party to declare itself as “anti-Zionist” and for the “de-proscription of Palestine Action”, but denies accusations the movement is antisemitic.

The motion has been backed by the party’s deputy leader Mothin Ali, which calls for the replacement of Israel with a “single democratic Palestinian state in all of historic Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital”.

It also called for the release of all “political prisoners”, including convicted murderer, Marwan Barghouti, who is also accused of being the head of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, who have conducted various armed attacks on Israeli military and civilians since its formation in 2000.
