This is Dyson Airsmooth, the first dedicated hot brush from the British brand.
At £199, it’s one of the most affordable new additions to the lineup announced by Dyson during its annual Unveiled showcase in Berlin, which included a £419 toothbrush with a camera, a robot vacuum with ‘forensic’ cleaning abilities thanks to the onboard UV light, and a refreshed Corrale CoolShine straightener that actively cools your hair.
The same loop-shaped bristles found on the Airsmooth also feature on the flat brush attachment for the Dyson Airwrap Co-Anda 2x, although that model starts from £579.99

Dyson Airsmooth is designed for those who want to dry, smooth, and lift hair …but who might not need the additional attachments found in the box with the £479.99 Dyson Airwrap i.d multi-styler.
For the Airsmooth, engineers at Dyson settled on pear-shaped design for the brush, which it says creates better tension for a smoother and longer-lasting blowout. As you’d expect from the brand behind the Airblade, there’s no shortage of airflow, which the company says means it needs less heat than rival products.
But it’s the bristles that Dyson is particularly proud of. The company has patented a dual-bristle system, which was created to guide hair around the brush — not fight it. To do this, Dyson developed an anti-snagging looped bristle design that collapses to release strands.
Dubbed PivotFlex, the open-base design helps to diffuse and control high-pressure airflow, minimising frizz and hair disturbance. Arranged in a teardrop formation, the two bristle types work together to stretch curls and coils, reduce frizz and smooth hair from root to tip as you brush with the Airsmooth. It’s clever stuff.

Viewed from the top down, it’s easy to see the unique shape of the PivotFlex bristles, which can flex up to 90- degrees, which Dyson says “helps hair wrap and release smoothly, creating tension without tangles”

Inside the Airsmooth, you’ll find the same intelligent heat control as its £349.99 Supersonic Nural, measuring the temperature of the air 100x every second to protect “natural curl patterns and textures over time,” Dyson says.
Dyson Airsmooth also features universal voltage, so you won’t need to worry about your new hot brush not working on your travels. It’s designed to operate safely on a wide variety of mains voltages around the world, including lower 100–120V in countries like the United States and Japan, as well as 220–240V in the UK and mainland Europe.
