Police carrying out a series of raids after three months of planning have seized a haul of drugs including £50,000 of cannabis found hidden in a washing machine.

A man and a woman were arrested during Monday morning’s searches in the Manchester areas of Ancoats, Gorton and Levenshulme, and in Stockport, police said.

Officers also seized suspected heroin, cocaine, illicit cash and several e-bikes thought to have been used in street dealing.

The two suspects, both aged in their 30s, were question for alleged offences including being concerned in the supply and possession of controlled drugs, Greater Manchester Police said.
