Jackie Apostel has defended her romance with Cruz Beckham after facing criticism about their age difference on social media.
The 29-year-old responded to an Instagram user who questioned why she was dating the 20-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham.
The comment appeared on Victoria Beckham’s Instagram post celebrating her Spring-Summer 2026 collection at Paris Fashion Week on October 3.
The fashion designer had shared a photograph of her family supporting her at the show, including her son and his other half.

“Why is a 29 year old dating a 20 [year old],” the Instagram user wrote, later adding: “That’s just weird.” (sic)
Ms Apostel directly addressed the criticism by highlighting her boyfriend’s character traits. “Because he’s kind, funny, smart, caring, driven, mature, talented, loyal, and also quite handsome,” she wrote in response to the negative comment.
She included a smiling emoji adorned with love hearts to complete her retort.
The songwriter’s defence of their romance garnered support from other social media users, with one follower commenting: “I think it’s wonderful, and the very best of luck to both of you.”

A third supporter shared their own experience, writing: “No, it’s not, my husband is 8 years younger than me…I highly recommend it!”
The couple’s relationship became public when they were photographed together at Glastonbury Music Festival in June 2024. The following month, they were seen enjoying an evening out together.
Their romance progressed quickly, with the pair attending Paris Fashion Week together in September.

Cruz, who was 19 at the time, made their relationship Instagram official in October 2024 by posting a birthday tribute to Ms Apostel.
He shared a photograph of his girlfriend on Instagram Stories with the caption: “I love you.”
The youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham has been working on his own music career, regularly sharing teasers on social media.
Meanwhile, Ms Apostel shared her own Paris Fashion Week experience on Instagram, posting photographs of herself kissing Cruz at the event.
“What an incredible show and in my favorite dress yet. @victoriabeckham,” she wrote. “Honoured to witness all of this come to life.”
The 29-year-old also posted a behind-the-scenes moment showing the couple brushing their teeth together, with Ms Apostel still wearing her formal gown. She captioned the post: “And 24 hours of [France].”
Victoria Beckham responded warmly to Ms Apostel’s posts, commenting: “So pretty!! Xxx.”
The fashion show was attended by David Beckham and three of their four children – Cruz, Romeo and Harper. Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his wife Nicola were notably absent from the family gathering.
