A major high street clothing retailer has shut six more of its stores after falling into administration, in another blow to Britain’s high streets, with more sites to close in the weeks ahead.

In January 2026, The Original Factory Shop confirmed it had entered into administration with multiple stores earmarked for closure.

Over the weekend, six of the popular chain’s stores were shut down for good, with the majority of the locations shut down being situated in Norfolk and Suffolk.

This comes amid a wave of store closures that have swept across the UK in recent years, as businesses have struggled to navigate multiple challenges.

Here is a full list of the store closures that have taken place over the past week:

  • Newquay, Cornwall (closed March 29, 2026)
  • Cromer (closed March 28, 2026)
  • Gorleston-on-Sea (closed March 28, 2026)
  • Snettisham (closed March 29, 2026)
  • Bungay (closed March 28, 2026)
  • Garstang (closed March 27, 2026).

Firm Interpath Advisory was appointed as administrators to The Original Factory Shop after the company posted a decline in sales following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The retailer’s administration woes come only one year after the business was acquired by new parent company Modella Capital.

  • Cainscross.

To mark this latest round of store closures, The Original Factory Shop has launched impressive closing down sales across all locations with some products having their prices slashed by up to 85 per cent.
