Cruz Beckham appeared to extend an emotional olive branch to his estranged brother Brooklyn on Thursday.

The musician, 20, took to Instagram to share a close-up photograph of himself looking visibly upset, accompanied by a crying emoji and the words: “Life is too short to be silent, at least talk it out.”

The youngest son of Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham also posted a video of his eldest brother, 26, presenting his sibling with a guitar, captioning it “brotherly love” alongside multiple crying emojis.

He later shared an image of a guitar with the word “Thanks” written across the back.

The posts come amid the ongoing rift between Brooklyn and the rest of the Beckham family, with the brothers still not following each other on social media.

The cryptic uploads mark Cruz’s most direct public reference to the family discord since tensions escalated earlier this year.

Cruz, who recently performed an intimate Notting Hill gig with his band The Breakers, which Brooklyn did not attend, has previously remained silent about the estrangement.

His appeal comes weeks after Brooklyn’s conspicuous absence from their father’s knighthood ceremony.

Brooklyn, who has been living in California, did not attend Sir David’s knighthood presentation at Windsor Castle last month, where the football legend received the honour from King Charles.

Sources suggest he also did not contact his father to congratulate him. Instead, during the ceremony, Brooklyn promoted his hot sauce brand Cloud23 on social media.

This incident followed earlier absences from several events marking Sir David’s 50th birthday.

Sources have long suggested Brooklyn has drifted from the family since marrying American actress Nicola Peltz, 30.

Tensions reached breaking point in May when Brooklyn and Nicola declined to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations. Soon afterwards, both Cruz and Romeo unfollowed their brother on Instagram.

The rift is understood to stem from Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2020 wedding, when conflicting versions emerged about a dispute involving the bride’s wedding dress.

Nicola reportedly rejected a design by Posh in favour of Valentino; others suggested her mother-in-law withdrew the offer.

Matters worsened when the couple renewed their vows in August, in a ceremony overseen by Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson Peltz. None of the Beckhams were invited.

Family insiders say Brooklyn has become increasingly isolated from his relatives since the marriage, with the estrangement now appearing more severe than ever.

Adding further poignancy to Cruz’s posts, a new interview with Sir David was released this week on James Corden’s This Life of Mine podcast.

In it, the Manchester United legend spoke about how he raised his children with values he inherited from his own parents.

“I would like to say that I brought my children up with the same values as what my dad and mum taught me and my sisters,” he said.

“My kids are very polite… humble… and they all have the same values as what I have and my wife has. That’s the proudest thing that we have as parents.”

He added: “I am different with my kids, I’m a lot softer than my dad was. But there’s certain traits that I do have the same as my dad.”

The interview, recorded last year, has been released at a time when tensions between father and eldest son are at their most visible.
