Catherine, the Princess of Wales channelled Princess Diana’s iconic off-duty aesthetic when she visited the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station alongside Prince William on Thursday.

The princess donned a black-and-white houndstooth blazer layered over her blue shirt, adding a baseball cap emblazoned with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution logo, a combination that directly echoed one of Diana’s most beloved casual looks.

The late Princess of Wales frequently paired preppy blazers with baseball caps during her own outings, making this ensemble feel like a deliberate tribute.

During the visit, the royal couple met with crew members and volunteers who operate lifesaving services along the River Thames.

Catherine accessorised with small gold hoop earrings and her signature stack of rings, most notably the sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring that once belonged to Diana herself.

Prince William coordinated his outfit with his wife’s for their joint appearance, wearing a navy polo beneath a light blue dress shirt, paired with a navy blazer and trousers.

He completed his look with brown suede boots that complemented Catherine’s new Jimmy Choos.

Earlier in the day, the Princess of Wales made a stylish appearance at Borough Market, sporting a sky blue button-down shirt from the brand “With Nothing Underneath” that has become a firm favourite in her wardrobe rotation.

Catherine paired the £150 organic cotton shirt with a bespoke tartan blazer by Catherine Walker and sleek Joseph trousers for the London engagement.

The ensemble was completed with brand new Jimmy Choo Cece ankle boots in brown velvet suede, marking a departure from her usual footwear choices.

A Me & Em belt and Cartier earrings provided the finishing touches to her polished look for the walkabout on a particularly blustery day in the capital.

The £995 boots represent something of a style evolution for Catherine, who typically favours flat-soled knee-high boots she has worn since her school days.

Jimmy Choo describes the footwear as having “a timeless, equestrian-inspired silhouette”.

The Western-inspired ankle boot, with its cowboy-influenced shape, ventures into more fashion-forward territory than the princess usually explores.
