This is the moment Bev Turner and Ben Leo were left speechless after GB News guest Matthew Stadlen declared the BBC “bends over backwards to be accurate”.

Political commentator Mr Stadlen joined the pair on The Late Show Live after the bombshell news that BBC director general Tim Davie had resigned after a Panorama documentary misled viewers.

He laid into the White House’s attacks on the broascaster, telling the GB News hosts: “The irony is that the BBC has been called fake news.

“It is the one organisation – or one of several organisations in this country – that makes mistakes, but bends over backwards to be accurate.

“If we lose the BBC we will be massively diminished, both as a country and as a democracy.”

The Late Show Live hosts were then stunned into silence by his words.
