Prince Louis has been voted as the most mischievous royal in a poll for the 75th anniversary of Dennis the Menace.

The seven-year-old was picked out as the 22nd most mischievous person among 75 well-known people, two places ahead of his uncle, Prince Harry.

The youngest member of the Wales family often humours royal fans with his cheeky ways during events.

His brother, Prince George, came in at 29th and his sister, Princess Charlotte, at 38th.

In the Beano’s survey of 1,000 children aged six to 12, King Charles was ranked 54th among their favourite mischief-makers, a list of individuals described as those who “embody creativity, humour and imagination”.

Louis was described as “the monarchy’s official mischief correspondent” in the list, while the Duke of Sussex was called a “royal by birth, rebel by nature”.

George was labelled as a “future king, currently bored kid at parades”, with King Charles being called “the very serious man who sometimes can’t help cracking a joke”.

Louis and George were seated next to each other on a bench, while Charlotte was shown dancing to music.

Harry Styles and Claudia Winkleman were also included, as were Rowan Atkinson, Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John.

The collectable edition boasts the longest fold-out cover in Beano history.

All 75 mischief-makers appear together on the eight-page fold-out, with the anniversary comic focusing on the importance of reading, in support of the National Year of Reading.

Research by the Beano shows both children and adults agree the best mischief-makers all have humour, creativity and imagination.

Director of mischief at the Beano, Mike Stirling, said: “Dennis is forever 10, and for 75 years he’s reminded us that being a kid is the best thing ever.

“He has sparked mischief, laughter and a love of reading for fun in every generation since 1951.

“Childhood can feel quite serious these days, and this celebration is all about reminding us all that a bit of creative mischief superpowers childhood at its best.”

As part of the celebrations, 2026 has been declared Beano’s Year of Mischief.

Beano was first published in 1938 and continues to be produced weekly at its original headquarters in Dundee, with printing taking place in the UK.

The comic has delighted generations of children over its 87-year history, featuring characters such as Minnie the Minx, The Bash Street Kids, and Roger the Dodger.

Dennis made his first appearance in Beano issue 452 on March 17, 1951.

The Dennis the Menace 75th Anniversary issue of Beano is on sale from Tuesday.
