A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Leicester.Leicestershire Police said an officer in a police car was flagged down in London Road, close to Saxby Street, by a man who had “significant injuries” to his chest and stomach at about 22:45 BST on Wednesday.Paramedics were called and the man, who was in his 20s, was taken to hospital, where he died in the early hours of Thursday morning, the force added.Following initial inquiries, police believe the man may have been stabbed in De Montfort Place – at the rear of a number of properties…

A Conservative councillor has said Essex residents are “sick” of “scruffy” St George’s flags hanging from lampposts, adding they damage “community spirit”.
