A major safety alert has been issued for radiator fans that pose an immediate fire hazard to UK households.
The rechargeable units can burst into flames without warning while charging, during normal operation, or even when switched off in standby mode.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) confirmed that the Valiant-branded devices contain defective lithium-ion polymer batteries.
Three production batches –967, 968, and 970 – are affected by the recall. The faulty fans carry part code FIR046 and barcode 5061026620844.
Other batches remain unaffected, and no other Valiant products are impacted by the recall.
The potentially lethal products were distributed through popular retailers across the country, including Amazon, eBay, Temu, B&Q, Debenhams, The Range, and TikTok Shop.
The dangerous flaw lies in the internal battery system, which can experience thermal runaway – a chain reaction causing rapid temperature increases and combustion.

Shoppers must check their devices for the affected batch codes, which appear both on the product packaging beside the barcode and on a label affixed to the unit’s base.
Those who find them at home must “stop using the product immediately” and move it to an outdoor location away from buildings.
The manufacturer has warned against disposing of the units through standard household waste or recycling bins due to severe fire risks at waste facilities.
