With Halloween officially behind us, the nation is gearing up for Christmas, and supermarkets are already dropping their festive adverts.

Love is in the air at Aldi as Kevin the Carrot makes his grand return to TV tonight at 8.15pm.

The beloved vegetable is celebrating a decade of festive appearances with Aldi’s new campaign, but this year brings something special: a marriage proposal.

In the first of three episodes, Kevin will pop the question to his long-time love, Katie the Carrot, in what promises to be a “heartwarming” moment for fans.

The supermarket has given shoppers an early glimpse of the romantic storyline that kicks off their 2025 festive advertising campaign.

It’s a milestone year for the iconic character who has become synonymous with Aldi’s Christmas celebrations.

The festive teaser reveals a charming scene, beginning with the couple’s pet, Caulidog, waiting eagerly in the snow outside Katie’s home.

The adorable dog plays a crucial role in Kevin’s romantic plan, sporting a sparkling diamond ring on its collar.

Kevin has prepared cue cards for his big moment, ready to ask the most important question of his life.

The snowy setting creates the perfect backdrop for this touching proposal that’s “sure to warm hearts across the nation”.

But this romantic first episode is just the start of Aldi’s festive fun, with two additional instalments promising “further fun, surprises, and plenty of Aldi Christmas spirit”.

Viewers will have to tune in tonight to discover whether Katie accepts Kevin’s proposal, with the supermarket keeping tight-lipped about her response to the all-important question.

The romantic storyline marks a “truly memorable” new chapter for the characters who have entertained families across Britain for the past decade.

The first episode of Aldi’s Christmas campaign airs tonight at 8.15pm on television screens across the country.

Chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: “We know how much our customers adore Kevin, and this year, to mark his 10th anniversary, we wanted to bring an extra sprinkle of magic and romance to his story.

“This teaser sets the stage for a truly heartwarming Christmas, reminding us all that love is at the heart of the festive season.

“We can’t wait for everyone to join Kevin and Katie on their journey and see what other surprises we have in store.”

Britons are already excited to watch the advert, with Aldi shoppers flooding social media with enthusiastic comments.

“Aww, I can’t wait to see what Kevin is gonna get up to this year,” rejoiced one fan.

Offering high praise, another added: “Aldi has the best Christmas adverts.”

“Already know this is gonna be an emotional ride,” commented a third perceptive shopper.

In other festive Aldi news, the supermarket recently unveiled its biggest-ever Christmas sandwich range, including “everyone’s favourite festive treat”.

The line-up is available now for anyone keen to enjoy a seasonal snack.
