Kirstie Allsopp has revealed she was rushed to hospital and required surgery after suffering a nasty fall while celebrating her birthday.

The 55-year-old Location, Location, Location presenter shared a series of pictures from her hospital bed on Wednesday as she detailed the dramatic incident, which occurred during an annual family tradition at Meadowgate.

Ms Allsopp explained that she had been enjoying a picnic on the beach at Welcombe Mouth before going for a swim and beginning the walk back to the house for birthday cake.

However, the celebrations took a painful turn when she slipped on a muddy section of a steep path.

The presenter said it took “a whole host of people” to get her to hospital after her son Oscar ran to find help.

Paramedics from Bude RNLI and Cornwall Air Ambulance subsequently tracked down the injured television star, with Ms Allsopp crediting location service What3words with helping emergency crews reach her.

Alongside her account of the ordeal, Ms Allsopp posted striking pictures showing her lying in a hospital bed wearing an oxygen tube.

Another photograph showed her injured leg elevated in a cast, while she also shared an X-ray of her foot and an image of the air ambulance involved in the rescue.

After being located, Ms Allsopp said she was given a “huge amount of painkillers” before being transported to hospital.

She joked she had been “high as a kite” while being treated and admitted she could not remember the names of everyone who had helped her.

Paying tribute to the emergency services, she recalled rescuers named Chris and Jeremy, as well as someone she believed was called Lee and “young Jake in the ambulance”.

Ms Allsopp added her family had since told her there were “far more people than that to thank”.

She also praised staff at Barnstaple hospital, describing them as “amazing, kind & caring” and thanking the “many lovely people doing their absolute best”.

The property expert confirmed doctors had operated on her injured leg and reassured followers that she expected to return home soon.

“It’ll be a boot and crutches for a while, but I feel very, very lucky that it was possible to reach me and get me to hospital so quickly, and I have a job that I can do on crutches,” she wrote.

She added it was “not a birthday I am going to forget in a hurry” before once again thanking everyone involved in her care.

Concerned followers quickly flooded the comments with well wishes.

One wrote: “Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Another responded: “Oh my, poor you. Thank goodness you were located and rescued by our brilliant emergency services. Sending love and healing hugs.”

A third added: “Dear Kirstie. So very glad you were rescued,” while another wished her a “speedy” recovery.

This is not the first time Ms Allsopp has suffered a painful fall.

In September 2023, the presenter tumbled down a flight of stairs while filming Location, Location, Location at a pub in Stoke Newington.

She subsequently described incident as “the scariest thing and most painful thing I have ever done in my life”.

Despite the severity of the fall, X-rays and CT scans at the time revealed that she had escaped without breaking any bones.

Ms Allsopp now faces a period using a protective boot and crutches as she recovers from her latest accident following surgery.
