Sir Andy Murray has spoken warmly about the Princess of Wales, describing her as a genuine tennis enthusiast following their recent afternoon together at Wimbledon.
The three-time Grand Slam champion watched British player Katie Swan face Madison Keys alongside Catherine during this year’s Championships.
“Yes, it was a fun afternoon,” Murray told Hello. “She is definitely a tennis fan and she plays a bit herself, I think.”
The retired tennis star also revealed Catherine’s secret hobby.
“I think she also plays padel.”
He added: “We watched the Katie Swan and Madison Keys match, so it was good to be watching a British player together.”
Catherine’s love of tennis is well-documented, so her return to the All England Tennis Club in south west London this summer was a welcome sight.

Catherine has served as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, establishing herself as a familiar figure at SW19.
Her attendance record stretches back to 2011, with only two absences: during her pregnancy with Prince George in 2013 and when the pandemic forced the Championships’ cancellation in 2020.
