The body of a man has been pulled from a reservoir in another death linked with the hot weather.
It happened on Thursday at 20:30 BST when police were called to Sykes Reservoir, in Stockport, Greater Manchester, after being told someone had got into difficulty in the water.
After emergency services including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and the North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene, they recovered the body of a 49-year-old man, Greater Manchester Police said.
The force added his family is being supported and repeated advice to avoid entering reservoirs, rivers, canals or ponds during the warm temperatures.
“Our thoughts are first and foremost with his family and loved ones at this tragic time,” said Supt Dave Henthorne.
“We are currently looking into the full circumstances of the incident however we’d like to remind people of the serious risks associated with open water.
“It has been extremely warm recently which is set to continue into the weekend.”
