Druski has provoked controversy after sharing a sketch on Wednesday in which he donned prosthetics to likely impersonate Erika Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.

The late conservative activist was fatally shot at an event in Utah last September.

Drew Desbordes, known professionally as Druski, posted the video to social media with the caption: “How Conservative Women in America act.”

While the American comedian refrained from explicitly naming Ms Kirk, the parody appeared unmistakable, featuring recognisable elements including her distinctive style of dress and her well-known fist gesture, alongside apparent references to her media appearances.

The sketch has drawn sharp criticism, with detractors arguing that satirising a woman still mourning her husband’s violent death crosses a line, as well as observing how the comedian painted his face completely white for the video, an act known as whiteface.

Right-wing journalist Dom Lucre wrote on X: “Despite her being taunted by smaller creators, we share a responsibility to know when something is too far, her husband actually was killed a few months ago. You can go viral with ease but why does it have to be at the cost of a family this time?”

Another social media user penned: “I love your work, bro but this ain’t it, man. F*** the politics in it, this is a grieving widow who tragically lost her husband over mental people. Come on, man.”

A third added: “This is too far, though. Beyond the blatant racism, you’re mocking a widow who had her husband assassinated in front of the world.”

A fourth wrote: “Black man does whiteface – everyone laughs, white man does blackface – is racist.”

However, others rushed to defend the comedian, praising the sketch online.

“Druski Skit is hilarious,” one viewer posted.

Another added: “The difference between you and Erica is that tomorrow you will wake up still oppressed in a white man’s world, and Erica will wake up being a free white woman!”

One fan also commented: “Are you sure its not her?” suggesting the resemblance to Ms Kirk was striking.

This is not the first time the comedian has faced backlash over his sketches.

In September 2024, he was criticised after appearing at a Nascar event in Talladega wearing white skin makeup, a beard and American flag tattoos as part of a character he described as a “Guy who is just Proud to be AMERICAN.”

Many at the time accused him of performing whiteface and being insensitive.

He has also drawn criticism in the past for parodying US megachurch pastors such as Mike Todd.

More recently, during the 15th NFL Honors in February 2026, he sparked outrage after repeatedly stumbling over player Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name while presenting an award.

Some claimed it sounded like a racial slur and accusing him of being unprofessional.

Druski has responded to previous controversies by insisting his comedy comes from a “good place” and that he does not intentionally “punch down”, often citing comedians like Eddie Murphy as inspiration for his character-led performances.
