A EuroMillions ticket holder in Birmingham has mere hours remaining to collect a £1million windfall before the prize vanishes forever at midnight tonight. =

The lucky winner, who purchased their ticket for the draw on August 15, 2025, appears unaware they are sitting on a life-changing sum of money.

National Lottery officials have launched an urgent appeal for the mystery ticket owner to come forward before the clock strikes twelve on Wednesday, February 11.

The search for this millionaire-in-waiting has been ongoing since last summer, yet despite extensive efforts to locate them, the prize remains untouched.

Time has now almost entirely run out for whoever holds the winning slip to step forward and claim their fortune.

The winning ticket carries the code VLPL 28287 and was entered into draw number 1868.

Lottery organisers are pleading with players to conduct thorough searches of their belongings to potentially find the winning ticket.

The National Lottery has stressed that the holder may not even realise they have won, making it crucial for people to examine any old tickets they may have tucked away.

Officials are also encouraging potential winners to spread the word among friends and family members who might be able to help locate the missing slip.

Anyone who believes they may hold the winning ticket should contact the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email [email protected].

Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery, Andy Carter said: “Were you in or around Birmingham in the week leading up to the August 15 draw?

“Maybe it isn’t even a local winner, did you visit the area for the day and play EuroMillions, did you return home and stash it somewhere safe?”

Mr Carter continued: “I want nothing more than to unite the winner with their prize money.

“Tell your friends, check your pockets, check your tickets, as it could be you.”

Under National Lottery regulations, ticket holders are given 180 days from the date of any draw to come forward and claim their winnings.

Should nobody present the winning ticket before tonight’s deadline, the entire £1million prize, together with all interest it has accumulated, will be redirected to support National Lottery-funded projects throughout the UK.

The UK Millionaire Maker game gives UK players of EuroMillions the chance to win an additional prize of £1million in every EuroMillions draw.

The National Lottery Commission changed the name of the game from ‘Millionaire Raffle’ to ‘UK Millionaire Maker’ in October 2014.

Currently, the UK Millionaire Raffle draw, which took place on July 27, 2012, holds the world record for creating the most lottery millionaires in one night, with 97 of the 100 prizes claimed.

The largest lottery win ever recorded in Britain went to a ticket holder who claimed a staggering £195million EuroMillions jackpot in July 2022, demonstrating the life-altering sums that can be won through the game.
