Reigning champions Wolfhounds produced a rampant display in the Celtic Challenge to ease to a 69-0 victory over Brython Thunder at the Affidea Stadium.

The hosts scored six first-half tries to race into a comfortable lead in Belfast and wrap up the bonus point.

Neil Alcorn’s side added five more tries in the second half to breeze past the half-century mark.

The win marked a fourth successive victory for the Wolfhounds in the competition and moved them top of the standings.

Niamh Marley got the Wolfhounds’ first try on seven minutes, holding off two defenders to touch down.

A penalty try was then awarded before Vicky Elmes Kinlan raced through to add a third.

The bonus point was secured for the hosts on 30 minutes as Robyn O’Connor received the ball out on the right and scampered home.

Linda Djougang then crossed with Elmes Kinlan getting her second to complete a dominant first-half display.

The Wolfhounds picked up where they left off in the second period as Stacey Flood collected a high ball from Dannah O’Brien to score a seventh try.

O’Connor finished off a fine break from Aibheann Reilly for her second with substitute Meabh Clenaghan then scoring a ninth try off a quick maul.

They racked up double figures for tries on 72 minutes as Jade Gaffney dotted down to finish off a sweeping move before Naoise Smyth added another late on.
