Former Made in Chelsea stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have become parents for the first time, announcing the arrival of their baby boy earlier today.

The couple revealed they have named their son Ziggy, sharing the joyful news with followers on social media alongside touching photographs from the delivery room.

“Ziggy, you have our whole hearts,” the pair wrote in their announcement post.

The images showed Ms Habboo, 31, beaming on the birthing bed whilst Mr Laing, 37, embraced both his wife and newborn son.

Additional polaroid-style snaps captured the intimate moments following the birth.

Celebrity friends rushed to congratulate the new parents, with singer Jessie J commenting “You did it mama” and Made in Chelsea co-star Emily Blackwell expressing her excitement to meet the baby.

The couple’s romance blossomed in front of cameras on the E4 reality series, where Laing had appeared since 2011 and Habboo joined in 2017.

They were friends for three years before beginning their relationship in 2019.

Their courtship provided numerous storylines for the programme, including tensions with Sam Thompson, who had previously dated Ms Habboo for six months.

Despite experiencing difficulties, including a cheating scandal, the pair reconciled.

Laing proposed at the Rosewood London hotel in December 2021, choosing the venue where they had shared their very first date.

The couple tied the knot with a civil ceremony in London in April 2023, surrounded by close friends and family, before hosting an elaborate weekend celebration in Marbella the following month.

The couple first shared their pregnancy news in June, posting a video of their ultrasound appointment on Instagram.

As the image of their baby appeared on screen, an overwhelmed Mr Laing exclaimed “Are you kidding me” whilst Ms Habboo looked on with evident delight, hearing their child’s heartbeat for the very first time.

Speaking on their podcast, Mr Laing described an intense emotional response when he first felt the baby move.

“When I feel the kick, something goes through my body, something hits me, some chemical nails my body and the only way to describe it is like pure love,” he explained.

Ms Habboo compared the sensation to a fish swimming through her stomach, whilst also being candid about pregnancy challenges including fainting spells and swelling.

Beyond their television appearances, Mr Laing and Ms Habboo have built a media partnership that includes a production company and a successful podcast.

The show began as NearlyWeds in the lead-up to their wedding, documenting their preparations for the big day.

Following their nuptials, the podcast was renamed NewlyWeds before transforming once more into NearlyParents as they prepared for their baby’s arrival.

The programme has featured pregnant celebrities including Katherine Ryan sharing their own experiences of expecting.

The pair also present on BBC Radio 1 together. In preparation for Ziggy’s arrival, the couple recently relocated to a new London property reportedly valued at £12million, ensuring they had space for their growing family.
