Labour voters have passed down a damning judgement on Sir Keir Starmer as the Prime Minister’s favourability has fallen to a record low, new polling has shown.

Data from YouGov has put Sir Keir’s net favourability rating at -54, the lowest recorded figure with the polling company to date.

Just 19 per cent of Britons said they have a favourable opinion of the Prime Minister.

The new data puts Sir Kier below Boris Johnson’s favourability on the day he resigned as Prime Minister (-53).

Polling also revealed less than half (42 per cent) of those who voted Labour last year see the Prime Minister favourably.

YouGov found: “The depths of the Government’s unpopularity are such that even majorities of those who voted for Labour last year now have unfavourable opinions of Keir Starmer (52 per cent).

“Just 42% of Labour voters see Starmer favourably, with approaching as many having positive opinions of Ed Davey (40 per cent), Jeremy Corbyn (38 per cent and, increasingly, Zack Polanski (up eight points among Labour voters to 35 per cent this month). Most Labour voters (53 per cent) do, though, see Corbyn negatively.”

Despite the result, the pollster said Sir Keir is still a fair distance from being the least popular Prime Minister ever.

Liz Truss’s final rating with YouGov was -70, while Rishi Sunak recorded -57 during the 2024 election campaign.

The survey further served as a blow to Rachel Reeves ahead of her Autumn Budget next Wednesday.

The proportion of Britons with a favourable view of Rachel Reeves has sunk to 12 per cent, the lowest since she became Chancellor.

On the flip side, 69 per cent now see her unfavourably, up six points since last month and comfortably the highest ever recorded for Ms Reeves by YouGov.

This leaves Reeves with a net favourability rating of -57, which, although not her lowest ever, is roughly equal to Kwasi Kwarteng’s worst rating as Chancellor (-56) in the aftermath of his and Liz Truss’s controversial mini-budget three years ago.

Among Labour voters, some 57 per cent now say they have unfavourable opinions of the Chancellor.

“Only a quarter (26 per cent) have a favourable opinion of Rachel Reeves, giving her a net favourability rating among Labour voters of -31,” YouGov said.

In the latest polling, Nigel Farage’s favourability ratings remain largely unchanged from last month.

Some 30 per cent of Britons have a favourable opinion of the Reform UK leader, against just over double (62 per cent) seeing him unfavourably.

This puts Mr Farage at a net favourability rating of -32, according to the pollster.

Elsewhere in the Labour party, the polling found David Lammy’s first two months as justice
