Former Women for Trump Co-Chair Dr Gina Loudon has accused the BBC of “arrogant censorship” after Panorama was accused of misleading edits involving Donald Trump.

Speaking to GB News, Dr Loudon said she “couldn’t believe” the BBC thought it would “get away with it”.

In their flagship Panorama programme, Mr Trump appears to say: “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be there with you and we fight.

“We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell you’re not gonna have a country any more.”

However, the US President told the crowds that “everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”.

Dr Loudon told Britain’s News Channel: “He has been so wronged on this. I can’t believe they thought they would get away with it.

“How does a purported news organisation think that they can literally edit and censor an American president and get away with it? Thank God GB News is in town.”

GB News host Bev Turner agreed and said the Panorama episode showed “a real arrogance” within the BBC.

She told Dr Loudon: “This programme is one of the BBC’s most respected long-running documentaries, and I think they presumed they could get away with it.”

Dr Loudon praised the whistleblower who leaked the footage, claiming they had tried to raise concerns “but the BBC just didn’t care”.

She said: “How is this even a substantial news organisation? It’s one thing if they’d admitted they got it wrong. But they didn’t even do that.

“They excused it and said: ‘This is what our news organisation does.’”

Dr Loudon added: “I really do hope they take a look at better news organisations like GB News.

“When I was in the UK, I watched GB News and was very pleased, you present both sides.

“You’re not biased. This is extreme bias. It should never be tolerated in a free country.”

Detailing the leaked 19-page dossier into the BBC Panorama documentary, The Telegraph’s Associate Editor Gordon Rayner said the broadcaster made it appear to be a “seamless soundbite” from the US President encouraging the Capitol riot.

He said: “They’ve effectively created a quote that Trump didn’t say, they then show footage of the Proud Boys marching on the Capitol as if that happened in reaction to Trump speaking.”

A BBC spokesman said in a statement: “While we don’t comment on leaked documents, when the BBC receives feedback it takes it seriously and considers it carefully.

“Michael Prescott is a former adviser to a board committee where differing views and opinions of our coverage are routinely discussed and debates.”
