Victoria Beckham is approaching her 52nd birthday tomorrow with a sense of dread rather than celebration, according to sources close to the family.

The occasion marks the first since her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham publicly cut ties with his parents through a damaging Instagram statement in January.

“Victoria’s dreading it,” a source told The Mirror. “It’s really, really difficult for her. She’s trying to keep busy with work to distract herself, but her heart is broken.”

The contrast with previous years could not be starker. Just two years ago, the former Spice Girl celebrated her landmark 50th surrounded by all four children and celebrity friends.

Since not speaking to Brooklyn Beckham, the family take every opportunity to post on socials

Brooklyn, 27, skipped her Miami celebrations last year, but this birthday arrives amid complete estrangement from her firstborn.

In his explosive six-page Instagram post, Brooklyn alleged his parents had attempted to “ruin” his marriage to Nicola Peltz.

The 27-year-old claimed he had been “controlled by my parents for most of my life” and grew up with “overwhelming anxiety” that only disappeared after stepping away from the family.

He accused his mother of “hijacking” the first dance at his 2022 wedding, alleging she “danced very inappropriately” on him and left him feeling “humiliated.”

Brooklyn also hit out at what he described as “performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships” that had been “a fixture of the life I was born into.”

He further alleged his parents had placed “countless lies in the media” to protect their public image. The source reveals that Sir David has reached breaking point over his son’s behaviour.

“David thinks Brooklyn has been cruel and is at the end of his tether now. He doesn’t want to talk about Brooklyn now,” the insider said.

Victoria is bracing herself to be completely ignored on her special day, with the source confirming Brooklyn has cut off all communication.

The snub follows his decision to overlook his mother on Mother’s Day last month, instead posting a gushing birthday tribute to his mother-in-law Claudia Heffner Peltz on Instagram.

“Victoria knows she’s going to be ignored by Brooklyn – he’s totally blanking her with every form of contact,” the source explained. “The gushing birthday post about Nicola’s mum was just a knife to the heart.”

Victoria’s three other children have firmly aligned themselves with their parents and are determined to ensure her birthday is as special as possible.

Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, have consistently supported their mother at significant moments in recent months.

The family rallied around Victoria at Paris Fashion Week, where she received the Knight of the National Order of Arts and Letters at the Ministry of Culture.

David, Harper, Romeo and Cruz attended alongside the boys’ girlfriends Kim Turnbull, 24, and Jackie Apostel, 30, watching proudly as she accepted the prestigious French honour.

Harper later posted a touching tribute describing her mother as “my biggest role model.”

“The rest of the family have been amazing, and they are all going to be showing Victoria what a wonderful mum she is on her birthday, but it’s going to be a difficult day for her,” the source said.

Cruz has been particularly attentive to his mother’s emotional state during this turbulent period.

“Cruz, in particular, can see how much his mum is hurting. He’s really been there for her and is very understanding and empathetic,” the source revealed.

The family tensions took a visible toll on the 21-year-old during a recent performance with his band The Breakers at the Courtyard Theatre in Hackney on March 27.

Cruz became tearful while singing the group’s track “Loneliest Boy,” a song widely thought to address his brother’s estrangement, with lyrics including “Loneliest boy, mama don’t talk too much, it’s breaking her heart.”

Neither Mr or Ms Beckham has commented on their son’s statement

Bandmate Dan Ewins comforted him as he wiped his eyes mid-performance, while Romeo was also spotted shedding tears from the audience.

Victoria’s former Spice Girls bandmate Geri Halliwell attended with her daughter Bluebell, with onlookers describing “big happy family vibes.”
