Manager Phil Parkinson says Wrexham’s players are “chomping at the bit” as the Championship campaign is set to resume following the international break.

Parkinson’s side are seventh in the Championship, level on points with sixth-place Southampton, the side that occupies the final play-off spot and who Wrexham host next Tuesday.

Wrexham have seven games remaining, beginning with a visit to strugglers West Bromwich Albion on Friday.

“We’ve utilised the break, but you can tell everyone’s chomping at the bit to get going again,” Parkinson said.

“I could feel that today with the lads in training, I really could. Early in the week, we had a break, but everyone was just looking towards the end of the week.

“Going down the Hawthorns, we’re going to have a big away following down there. Tickets sold out almost instantaneously and obviously we can’t wait for the game.”
