A family have paid tribute to a “funny, loving and caring” woman killed after a car crashed into a stationary digger.

Natasha Denman, 23, was one of two passengers who died in the incident on Hyde Road in Gorton, Manchester, on Wednesday 5 August, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

Her family said: “Tasha was a much-loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin. We, as a family, will never recover from her sudden and unexpected passing at such a young age.”

Apollo Simms, 26, of Tealby Road in Manchester, has been charged with two counts of death by dangerous driving and failing to provide a sample for analysis in connection with this incident, GMP said.

The family tribute added: “Our hearts are forever broken. We would like her to be remembered as the naturally funny, loving and caring person she was.

“She can rest peacefully knowing she will always be cherished.”

A male passenger in the vehicle also died at the scene following the incident, which happened at about 21:35 BST on Wednesday 5 August.

Two other men in the car were taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers investigating the incident have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen the moments leading up to this incident, or anyone with mobile phone, doorbell or dash cam footage, to contact them.
