The interview, conducted four years before the documents were made public, forms part of a massive cache of files that have progressively shed light on the extent of Epstein’s network and his connections to the British Royal Family’s most prominent residences.
Earlier this year, it was claimed that Epstein had arranged for a 25-year-old model to fly to the Highlands estate in 1999 specifically to provide Mr Mountbatten-Windsor with a massage. “It felt weird and I didn’t want to,” the woman told The Mail on Sunday about the alleged encounter.
The financier’s efforts to direct young women towards royal properties apparently continued for two decades. Documents released by the US Department of Justice appear to show that as recently as 2019, Epstein sent a Skype message to a woman instructing her to “go to Windsor”, where Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was then residing, before adding “and Balmoral”.
Epstein himself had visited the Scottish castle as Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s guest in 1999. Seven years later, his private jet, the aircraft he routinely used to transport young women and girls across the globe, reportedly landed at Edinburgh Airport carrying both Mr Mountbatten-Windsor and Maxwell as passengers.
