A 95-year-old died in a fall at a care home just weeks before another woman died there after falling from a window.

South Manchester Coroner’s Court heard that the woman died on August 27 in a suspected fall at Berrycroft Manor in Romiley, Stockport.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A 78-year-old woman died at the same care home after she fell from a window on 30 September. GMP said she was treated at the scene but later died from her injuries in hospital.

The coroner’s office said a full inquest is due to be held into the 95-year-old woman’s death in February next year.

The care home, which has capacity for up to 78 residents and is run by Berrycroft Care, has been contacted for comment.
