Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool’s men’s doubles title defence is over at Wimbledon as they fell to a straight-set defeat in the quarter-finals.

Third seeds Cash and Glasspool became the first all-British pair to win the men’s doubles title at the All England Club for 89 years when they won the 2025 final.

But they missed out on a place in this year’s semi-finals after a 6-2 7-6 (7-2) defeat by Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador and Croatia’s Mate Pavic, the sixth seeds.

Arevalo and Pavic are aiming to complete the Queen’s-Wimbledon double this year – just as Cash and Glasspool did last year.

The pair needed just 74 minutes on court to dismiss Cash and Glasspool, who were unable to make the most of two break points.

Their defeat means Henry Patten is the sole Briton remaining in the doubles draw.

Patten and Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara, the champions at the All England Club in 2024, will face American Aleksandar Kovacevic and Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis for a spot in the final on Thursday.

The top seeded duo began this year by winning their second major title at the Australian Open and will now seek to reach a fourth slam final.
