Students at Kent University have expressed fears of the “spread of disease” after a meningitis outbreak.

Speaking to GB News National Reporter Will Godley, students told the People’s Channel they fear the campus becoming a “quarantine zone” as pupils queue to receive precautionary antibiotics.

The students told GB News: “I’m quite concerned to be honest, because I’m presuming everyone in this queue has been near people who’ve been infected. Which means, for all I’m aware, this could be a quarantine zone itself, they could be spreading the disease across everyone.

“I’d rather get through this queue as quickly as possible to minimise the risk. People apparently were getting infected last Friday and if you’ve just been told this weekend. So it could have been a whole week of problems happening for all we know.”

Another student admitted: “I’m quite worried, I feel like the uni has taken some action, and the queue is moving quite quickly. We’re going home today, we’ve got a train in a few hours, so we should be okay.”
