Motorists in Greater Manchester could face delays as another one of the region’s roads is set to close for three weeks for a regeneration project.
Fredrick Road in Salford is set to close on Monday until 26 November so that the £13.17m “Salford Rise” project can be carried out, Salford City Council said.
The closure is for the construction of a new manhole over a sewer on Fredrick Street.
The council said: “Access to residential and commercial properties will be maintained throughout the works, but there may be some delays on journeys.”
It added the project would better connect communities across the region and would help to unlock new development plots across the Innovation District near the University of Salford.
Several roads in Salford have been closed since the end of September, including Leslie Hough Way, Scarsdale Street, Wynne Street and Lissadel Street.
Once the preparatory works are completed, the council said the main construction works for Salford Rise would be completed in summer 2026.
