Waitrose has issued an urgent recall of the Tinc Festive Santa Bottle due to a significant choking hazard affecting young children.
The plastic Santa-themed drinking bottle poses a serious danger because its straw can break apart into small pieces; customers have been warned.
The fragments present a substantial risk to youngsters, particularly those below the age of three.
The supermarket chain has withdrawn the product from sale and is asking customers who purchased the item to return it immediately.

The Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) said in a statement: “The product presents a serious risk of choking as the straw can disintegrate, creating small parts.
“We recommend that you stop using the product immediately and ensure it is out of reach of children.”
Parents and carers are being warned to check whether they have the festive bottle in their homes following the safety alert.
Children under 36 months are at particular risk because they have a natural tendency to put objects in their mouths as a way of exploring their surroundings.
Regulators have confirmed that the festive drinking bottle does not comply with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
The product, manufactured in China, was sold through Waitrose stores and carries the barcode 5055610335627.

The OPSS has urged consumers to take immediate action regarding the recalled item.
In a statement, the regulator said: “We recommend that you stop using the product immediately and ensure it is out of reach of children. Return it to your nearest Waitrose & Partners for a full refund.”
Shoppers can take the Santa bottle back to any Waitrose branch to receive their money back in full.
The safety body has directed customers seeking additional information to access the official recall notice on the Waitrose website.
