A veteran has said the Poppy Day Appeal serves as a poignant reminder of “all the friends he has lost” over the years.

Group Captain Marty Lock reflected on the importance of honouring veterans and their families as the nation prepares for Remembrance.

He praised the Royal British Legion and London Poppy Day for raising vital funds and bringing communities together.

Mr Lock said the event also gives the public a chance to meet service members and feel a sense of pride in the Armed Forces.
