Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has won a car for his performances in the Indian Premier League – but the 15-year-old will have to wait three years to drive it.

Left-hander Sooryavanshi has excelled in the IPL this season, scoring 776 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 237.30.

He was named Most Valuable Player for the 2026 campaign, despite his team Rajasthan Royals not reaching the final.

The teenager also picked up the emerging player award and the Orange Cap, given to the highest run-scorer.

Among his prizes was a Tata Sierra – a popular mid-size SUV in India – but he cannot get behind the wheel because the minimum driving age in the country is 18.

Sooryavanshi’s individual prize money totalled more than £30,000.
