Television personality Ana Navarro has sparked controversy by mocking the physical appearance of former Superman actor Dean Cain following his announcement about joining America’s immigration enforcement agency.
The 53-year-old Republican commentator from The View posted on her Instagram Story on Thursday, responding to news coverage of Cain’s intention to become an ICE agent.
The body-shaming comment came after Cain’s Wednesday appearance on Fox News, where he declared his plans to join the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
During his interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News, Cain expressed his eagerness to join the immigration enforcement agency.
“I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP,” the actor told the Fox presenter. Cain revealed he already holds positions as both a sworn deputy sheriff and a police officer, qualifications he appeared to suggest would aid his transition into ICE.
His announcement coincided with the Department of Homeland Security’s ongoing recruitment efforts for the agency, which have included controversial promotional tactics that recently drew criticism from the creators of South Park after officials used imagery from the animated series.

Ana Navarro is a regular on The View
After Navarro’s comments were published, several news outlets reporter on her personal attack against Cain, which prompted critics to hit back.
In response to an Entertainment Weekly article about Navarro’s comments, one X user hit out: “Of course she makes personal attacks because she has no legitimate argument to his statement. She knows he’s right so she makes it personal.”
“What an awful woman. Liberal women are the absolute worst people,” another weighed in.
Elsewhere, a third fumed: “Typical liberal stance: Make attacks personal if someone didn’t agree with them.”
And a fourth weighed into the debate: “I don’t agree with Cain’s politics and proposed actions. However, criticism of someone’s body is never appropriate.” (sic)
However, Navarro’s fans jumped to The View star’s defence, with many applauding her attack on Cain.

Ana Navarro mocked Dean Cain on social media
The former television Superman has previously courted controversy with his political views, particularly regarding Hollywood’s creative direction.
Earlier this year, Cain criticised the latest Superman film featuring David Corenswet during a TMZ interview, questioning: “How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?”
His remarks came in response to director James Gunn’s description of Superman as “an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country,” with the film representing “a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.”
Cain also questioned Disney’s approach to reimagining classic characters, asking why studios were altering established properties “to exist for the times.”
The Nicaraguan-born panelist has frequently clashed with the Trump administration over immigration policies, including labelling tourists as racists in July for visiting Florida’s Alligator Alcatraz migrant detention facilities.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson responded with harsh criticism, stating: “Every time you think Ana Navarro can’t get any dumber, she proves you wrong.”
Jackson defended the detention centres, claiming they housed “violent illegal criminals” including murderers, though Entertainment Weekly noted they could not verify these allegations.
The spokesperson concluded: “No one who has any interest in facts or logic should pay attention to whatever Ana is spewing on TV because it’s probably wrong or stupid or, most likely, both.”
