The UK’s Eurovision entry has been confirmed as YouTuber and experimental singer-songwriter, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER.
The BBC announced on Tuesday that the singer will represent the UK at the contest, which will be taking place in Vienna in May.
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is described as a multi-talented solo artist, experimental singer, live electronics performer, and composer. He’s also a self-proclaimed Eurovision fan based in Kent.
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER stated: “I find it completely bonkers to be jumping on this wonderful and wild journey.

“I have always been a massive Eurovision fan, and I love the magical joy it brings to millions of people every year, so getting to join that legacy and fly the flag for the UK is an absolute honour that I am taking very seriously.
“I’ve been working a long time creating, writing, and producing my own visions from scratch, and documenting my process.
“I will be bringing every ounce of my creativity to my performances, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear and see what we’ve created. I hope Eurovision is ready to get synthesized!”
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER burst onto the scene in 2014 as Sam Battle, the frontman of the indie rock band ZIBRA.
The band performed at Glastonbury in 2015 for BBC Introducing.
Since then, he launched his flourishing solo career, indulging his passion for electronic and synth sounds.
As a solo artist, he has played to packed venues across the UK and Europe and has released several singles, albums and EPs.
He recently returned from a nationwide tour across Germany, the birthplace of the underground electronic music scene.
Responding to the news on X, fans were left divided in their opinions.
“Wtf?” one wrote, while another asked: “Sorry, who?”
A third penned: “Never heard of him but I just looked him up and the first thing that came up was ‘YouTuber’ and that’s never a good sign.”
However, others took a more hopeful approach, with one sharing: “As long as the song / live performance is good that’s all that matters.”
“Love how we’ve gone a different route this year! It’s a risk but at least we’ve done it! Hopefully the song’s awesome,” someone else commented.
One more added: “I mean, this definitely won’t be a standard ‘safe’ UK Eurovision entry, absolutely here for it and looking forward to hearing the song.” (sic)
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER was chosen as the UK’s representative following an extensive search led by UK Eurovision Project Director and Music Industry figure, David May, alongside Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer, BBC Studios North, and Head of Delegation for the UK.
The selected song that will be performed is set to receive its first radio play, along with the first exclusive interview, on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds in the coming weeks.

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna, Austria following JJ’s victory at the Grand Final in May 2025 in Basel, Switzerland with their song Wasted Love.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in Wiener Stadthalle on Saturday May 16, with the Semi-Finals taking place on May 12 and 14.
The Grand Final and the Semi Finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer plus via BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
