Emergency dispatch audio has shed light on the final moments at Tim Curry’s Hollywood residence on Tuesday night.

The recordings capture dispatchers repeatedly relaying the actor’s address whilst classifying the call as an “ambulance death investigation.”

Police and paramedics were dispatched to the £1.6 million Los Angeles property, where they discovered a male patient who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire service officials confirmed attending the same address as Mr Curry’s home, though they declined to identify the patient by name. Audio obtained by the Daily Mail gave insight into the actor’s last moments.

Mr Curry’s manager confirmed on Wednesday that the 80-year-old had passed away that evening.

No official cause of death has been established, though Mr Curry had endured significant health complications for over a decade following a major stroke in 2012.

The actor’ career in performance began with the musical Hair in 1968, but it was his portrayal of Dr Frank-N-Furter that would define his legacy.

He originated the role in The Rocky Horror Show on the West End in 1973, took it to Broadway the following year, and then starred in the celebrated 1975 film adaptation.

His stage work earned him Laurence Olivier Award nominations for best actor in a musical, for The Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance and King Arthur in Spamalot.

On screen, he built an equally impressive body of work across films including Home Alone 2, It, Charlie’s Angels, and Scary Movie 2, as well as the animated series Peter Pan & the Pirates.]His last television appearance came in 2010, playing a criminal called Billy Flynn across two episodes of Criminal Minds.

The stroke that altered the course of Mr Curry’s life struck in 2012, whilst he was receiving a massage at his Los Angeles home.

He unknowingly suffered two brain bleeds on the table, experiencing no symptoms whatsoever.

“I felt fine, I had no symptoms that I was aware of, but clearly he had noticed some,” Mr Curry told CBS Sunday Morning last October, recalling how his masseur grew concerned and dialled 911.

Paramedics transported him by stretcher to a nearby Kaiser Permanente hospital rather than his preferred Cedars-Sinai. Upon learning he had suffered a stroke, Mr Curry said he “thought immediately” of his father James, who had survived one when Mr Curry was just 11.

Brain surgery followed, along with roughly a month of hospital rehabilitation. Relearning to speak proved particularly difficult for the self-described lover of words.

“I hated not being able to speak because I speak a lot. I have to be told to shut up a lot. I love words, I love to communicate,” he said in that same interview.

Born in Cheshire in 1946, Curry was the younger of two children. His mother Patricia worked as a school secretary, whilst his father James served as a Royal Navy chaplain. His elder sister Judith, a concert pianist, died in 2001.

Raised in Plymouth and educated at boarding school, Mr Curry lost his father to pneumonia in 1958, aged just 12.

At a special screening last year marking The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s half-century, Mr Curry addressed his audience at LA’s Academy Museum with characteristic candour: “I still can’t walk, which is why I’m in this silly chair, and that’s very limiting.”
