Three people have been arrested following the discovery of a man’s body inside a wheelie bin at a Coventry park.
West Midlands Police detained the suspects overnight in Blackpool, arresting them on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender.
A woman in her 40s, a man also in his 40s, and a younger man in his 20s were taken into custody.
Police were alerted at 5pm on Friday after a member of the public found the deceased at Cash’s Park, located off Daimler Road.
The victim is thought to be between 40 and 50 years old, although formal identification has yet to be completed.
Investigators believe the victim may have been hit by a vehicle prior to his body being transported to the park location.
The deceased is described as having distinctive tattoos, which officers hope may assist in establishing his identity.
West Midlands Police are collaborating with Coventry City Council to trace where the wheelie bin originated before it was moved to Cash’s Park.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole from the Major Crime Unit confirmed all three suspects remain in custody as investigators work to piece together what occurred.
“After beginning our investigation this weekend, we have made a number of arrests overnight,” he stated.
“All of these people remain in custody at this time while we continue to build a picture of what might have happened.”
DCI Poole expressed gratitude to those who have already come forward with information and urged anyone with additional knowledge about the incident to contact police.

Describing the deceased’s tattoo, police described it as a “cross with a snake wrapped around it on his back” and the words “Little Stardust”.
They also said he has a “tattoo on his right arm saying ‘nan’ with a clover and the colours of the Irish flag”.
DCI Poole previously said: “We have a large team of detectives, forensic specialists and other staff working around the clock to establish what has happened to this man, who he is, and who is responsible.
“We’ve had several pieces of information come through to us as a direct result of our appeal, and we are following up those lines of enquiry.

GOOGLE“I really want to hear from anyone who recognises the descriptions of the tattoos on the man, as they are quite distinctive.
“I also really want to hear from anyone who has noticed unexplained damage on a vehicle, perhaps of a partner or relative, or anyone who’s noticed a sudden change in behaviour from someone they know.
“If you know or are responsible for what happened to this man, I would urge you to come forward now so that we can get the answers that he deserves.”
