Dramatic video footage shows the moment a car was set alight on a driveway, with the flames quickly spreading to the front of a house in which a young mother and child were sleeping.

Detectives from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have released the footage as part of their investigation into an arson attack early on 6 September at a house on Cleggswood Avenue in Littleborough, Rochdale.

The mother and child were able to escape uninjured with their pets after their car alarm sounded as it burned.

Police believe the attack was targeted.

A man, aged 42, was arrested on suspicion of stalking and conspiracy to commit arson and bailed pending further inquiries.
