Ethan Jamieson, the actor who portrayed the male tribute from District 4 in the 2012 blockbuster The Hunger Games, has been taken into custody on serious criminal charges in North Carolina.

The 27-year-old faces three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, according to court documents.

Authorities allege that Jamieson used a 9mm semi-automatic handgun to attack three individuals, identified in legal papers only as E.F., J.M., and K.W.

The incident reportedly occurred in Raleigh, where the former child star currently lives.

GETTY

One report indicates that Jamieson allegedly discharged the firearm at a vehicle occupied by the three men.

Representatives for the actor have not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter.

The alleged assault took place on March 23 in the North Carolina capital.

However, Jamieson was not apprehended until more than a fortnight later on April 8.

The following day, a court refused to grant him bail, meaning he remains in custody.

According to court records, Jamieson is scheduled to appear before a judge for a disposition hearing on April 30.

The timing of events is notable: just three days after the alleged attack, on March 26, Jamieson was sentenced for a separate offence dating back to the previous year.

That earlier case stemmed from an arrest on March 21, 2025, when he was detained in Raleigh for resisting a public officer.

This latest arrest marks Jamieson’s second brush with the law in just over a year, establishing a troubling pattern for the former young performer.

Jamieson’s time in Hollywood was brief but memorable, beginning with a small part in One Tree Hill in 2009 before landing his most prominent role in the dystopian franchise three years later.

Following The Hunger Games’ enormous success, he appeared in behind-the-scenes documentaries about the film.

He also took a guest role in the television series Justified in 2013, which proved to be his final acting credit.

Speaking to LancasterOnline in March 2012, Jamieson reflected on the film’s unexpected popularity.

He shared: “I knew that the books were popular, but I didn’t know that the movie was going to be so big.”

He also expressed a desire to step back from the spotlight, telling the publication: “I want to be just a normal person.”
