Really? So what about the Chagossians?
A huge spanner has landed in the works of Sir Keir Starmer’s ideological giveaway. Turns out that the Great British giveaway, the Chagos deal, could be in breach of a treaty between the UK and the US.
Keir has been forced to pull his Chagos Islands Bill.
The legislation was enacted to be debated in the House of Lords on Monday, but it’s been delayed after the Conservatives pointed out that it could violate a 60-year-old treaty which enshrines British sovereignty of the archipelago, or group of islands.
Giving away the Chagos Islands is an act of stupidity, and Donald Trump is absolutely correct.
He posted on social: “Shockingly, our brilliant NATO ally, the United Kingdom, is currently planning to give away the island of Diego Garcia, the site of a vital US military base, for no reason whatsoever.”
He went on to say there’s no doubt that China and Russia have noticed this act of total weakness.

“The UK giving away extremely important land is an act of great stupidity and is another in a very long line of national security reasons why Greenland has to be acquired. Do the right thing,” he said.
Why on earth is our Prime Minister even contemplating it?
Why is he trying to push this deal through? It makes no sense because initially David Lammy said: “If President Trump doesn’t like the deal, the deal will not go forward.
“And the reason for that is because we have a shared military and intelligence interest with the United States and of course, they’ve got to be happy with the deal or there is no deal.”
So when Donald Trump pointed out on Truth Social that selling it is an act of stupidity, you’d think that our Government might have a rethink but instead, in PMQs, Sir Keir Starmer made it all about him.

In the Commons, he said: “Words from President Trump were expressly intended to put pressure on me to yield on my principles.
“What he said about Chagos was literally in the same sentence as what he said about Greenland. That was his purpose.
“And the future of Greenland is a binary issue that is splitting the world at the moment with material.”
No, Keir, it’s not all about you. Donald Trump can’t really work out why this country would enact such great self-harm.
Mr Trump said: “I think they should keep it. I don’t know why they’re doing it. They need the money?”
Trump clearly hasn’t read the deal. If he had, he’d realise we’re actually paying for Mauritius to take the island off our hands and renting it back. It’s embarrassing.
Donald Trump was, of course, totally wrong about article five and the contributions of many Nato countries during Afghanistan.
Even some of his strongest supporters said it was a mistake.
The UK was absolutely on the front line. Yes, there were, of course, other Nato allies who did not get as involved. But along with many other nations, the UK was on the front line with the US.
Alongside his Islanders strangers speech, this might have been Sir Keir Starmer’s finest moment, although I’d take him more seriously if he wasn’t trying to remove protection from our troops when they come back from combat.
And with the island of strangers thing, it turned out that he hadn’t actually read the speech before he delivered it.
He didn’t write it either, and then later confirmed that he wished he’d never said it. He just can’t get anything right, can he?
Given the fast-changing world order, you’d think that our Government would focus on fixing our leaky borders, shape up our Armed Forces, arm up, re-industrialise them and become more self-sufficient, not be focused on giving away sovereign territory in the most foolish manner, at a time when we need as much strategic advantage as possible.
It is no surprise to me that Sir Keir Starmer’s party are lining up to ditch him.
