The political instability persisted in the UK on Thursday following the resignation of the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, and of Labour MP Josh Simons.

In a letter to Keir Starmer, Streeting wrote he had “lost confidence” in the PM’s leadership.

In his reply, Starmer wrote: “I am very sorry that you have stepped down from Government.”

And in another moving part, the mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, confirmed he’ll try to run for Parliament after Simons resigned to make way for him.
