From historical cities to rural coastlines, there is plenty to explore and discover in the UK.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, a travel expert outlined the three best places to visit.
President of International Citizens Insurance Joe Cronin, who has also travelled across the world, shared where he thinks are the “best” places for a holiday in the UK.
He named Edinburgh, Pembrokeshire and Belfast as the spots worth adding to your list.
The expert recommended Edinburgh if visiting Scotland

Edinburgh, Scotland
The capital of Scotland is known for its castle, the historical cobbled streets and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which takes place every August.
The expert said: “Edinburgh is a beautiful city that is rich in historic and cultural sites, with attractions such as the Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat.
“Consider timing your visit sometime in August, when there are many festivals in Edinburgh.
“Although hotel room prices tend to go up during these festivals, renting a university dormitory room, offered to tourists during that month, can help you save money.”
Pembrokeshire Coast, Wales
This spot in the southwest of Wales is ideal for anyone looking to enjoy beautiful beaches or a relaxing walk.
The expert added: “Pembrokeshire Coast is home to picturesque beaches, breathtaking cliffs and famous trails such as the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, measuring 186 miles.
“It is an excellent alternative to the more expensive UK seaside resorts. To save on accommodation costs, consider staying in eco-friendly campsites or local farms.
“Another hidden gem in this area is the Blue Lagoon, situated near Abereiddy, a flooded slate quarry with striking turquoise waters.
“It is nice and free to see, so it is ideal for kayaking or simply soaking in the view while staying within budget.”

Belfast is a great place to visit if you are setting your sights on Ireland. It can be reached in less than an hour by plane from many parts of mainland Britain.
Joe continued: “The city has a lot to offer, including places such as the Titanic Belfast Museum and the Giant’s Causeway, which is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, situated in the vicinity.
“For budget-conscious visitors, consider exploring the scenic Antrim Coast by bus, which is highly affordable.
“For added savings, stay in hotels that are a little further away from the downtown area – for example, the Queen’s Quarter, which offers a vibrant atmosphere at lower prices.”
