Tesla has confirmed that it will debut its latest electric vehicle model in Europe next month, with optimism that it could be seen on UK roads soon.
The official Tesla Semi X account announced that the Semi truck, which was first unveiled in 2017, would be displayed at IAA Transportation, with “specs and launch details” expected to be revealed.
IAA Transportation will take place in Hanover, Germany, between September 15 and 20, with thousands of enthusiasts and industry experts set to attend.
Tesla recently announced an updated Tesla Semi page on its website with extra details on the specifications of its electric truck model.
This includes lower energy costs and far fewer parts to maintain, allowing the electric truck to run for less than a diesel equivalent.
Using a Tesla Megacharger at up to 1.2 MW, drivers can recover around 60 per cent of its charge in just 30 minutes.
Once fully loaded, Tesla claims the Semi could have a total electric range of up to 500 miles, even when it is fully loaded with cargo.
It added that the new Semi comes with fleet software for live status, Trip Planner, remote support and over-the-air software updates.

Tesla said customer deliveries would begin later this year, with the Elon Musk-led brand describing it as a “beast” and the “future of electric trucking”.
Swedish freight technology company Einride confirmed earlier this week that it had agreed a deal to add 500 Tesla Semi trucks to its fleet.
It is expecting to receive the vehicles in September and deploy them across its North American operations over the next 24 months.
Einride will deploy the vehicles to support customers, including Amazon, across freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and Georgia.

The Stockholm-based company is set to oversee the largest rollout of heavy-duty electric vehicles to date, in a move that will triple its electric truck fleet.
Commenting on the deal, Dan Priestley, director of Semi at Tesla, said: “Einride is at the forefront of sustainable freight and we are thrilled to deepen our relationship with them through this order of 500 Semis.
“EV heavy trucks provide lower costs per mile from fuel savings, reduced maintenance, and better uptime over diesel trucks.
“These savings increase further through operational efficiency when deploying EV trucks at scale, and we are excited that Einride recognises this and look forward to supporting their deployments.”

This was backed by Roozbeh Charli, CEO of Einride, who said the speed at which the vehicles were being deployed was a testament to the partnership between the two brands.
Tesla confirmed that the first Semi had rolled off its high-volume production line at the end of April.
Although the Tesla Semi was first introduced in 2017, Tesla is looking to speed up production of the truck at its Gigafactory Nevada.
Estimates suggest that the factory, which is located around 24 miles east of Reno, could have capacity for approximately 50,000 vehicles a year.
