Good news for anyone who’s been meaning to join Tesco’s Clubcard Christmas Savers scheme – you’ve got a bit more time to secure that £12 bonus.

The supermarket has pushed back its deadline by three days, from October 16 to October 19, meaning shoppers also have next weekend to sign up or add money to their savings pot.

The scheme allows shoppers to save all their Clubcard vouchers throughout the year, specifically for Christmas shopping.

They can also add their own money during the year, up to £360.

To secure a £12 “bonus” courtesy of Tesco, customers must top up their savings with at least £200.

All their saved vouchers then arrive with their November Clubcard statement, just in time for the festive shopping season.

If you want to join or add money to your account, you can do so through the Tesco app or the Clubcard website.

It’s worth noting that your top-up money goes into a separate bank account that’s looked after by trustees, including an independent professional trustee company that’s separate from Tesco.

Britons have until October 19 to join Tesco’s Clubcard Christmas Savers scheme

Once you’ve saved up, all your vouchers come together in one handy bundle.

Regular Clubcard vouchers and any money you’ve topped up are valid for two years, while the bonus vouchers need to be used within three months.

There’s one catch, though – you can’t use your top-up or bonus vouchers with Tesco’s Reward Partners. These are just for spending at Tesco stores.

The Clubcard Christmas Savers scheme has been running for years, allowing shoppers to spread the cost of Christmas throughout the year.

‘We know that Clubcard Christmas Savers is always popular’

Rather than facing a massive bill in December, you can gradually build up your shopping fund.

For more details or to sign up before Sunday’s deadline, Britons can head to the Tesco Clubcard Christmas Savers page on Tesco’s website.

Shama Wilson, Tesco group membership and loyalty director, urged customers to take advantage of the extended deadline.

“We know that Clubcard Christmas Savers is always popular as it helps our customers to save for their big Christmas shop, plus they can get up to a £12 bonus from us,” she said.

“Time is running out for this year’s scheme, but we’re giving customers an extra three days until the end of October 19, so they can save even more for the festive season.”

This comes just days after Tesco announced the launch of a brand-new loyalty card perk.

Starting this week, Britons can enjoy discounted trips to the cinema thanks to a Tesco x Cineworld partnership.

Available exclusively on Tuesdays, it’s great news for those who love a midweek trip to the pictures.
