Tesco has launched a new benefit for Clubcard with supermarket shoppers in line to claim one million free coupons from today – are you eligible?

The supermarket giant has launched its new “Freebie Thursdays” campaign, with complimentary coupons being distributed to Clubcard holders across the country.

As part of the latest initiative, the retailer is encouraging customers to open their Tesco app immediately to discover whether they have been chosen for this week’s giveaway.

Those fortunate enough to receive a coupon can collect a free 150g packet of Walkers Sensations from any Tesco store.

This intiative marks the beginning of a summer-long programme that will see the retailer hand out millions of free products to loyalty scheme members, with fresh opportunities arriving each Thursday.

The promotion features popular Walkers Sensations varieties including Thai Sweet Chilli, Mature Cheddar & Chutney, Onion & Balsamic Vinegar, and Roast Chicken & Thyme.

Winners of this initial coupon drop must redeem their free crisps before midnight on Wednesday, June 17.

Selection for the giveaway was not random – Tesco chose recipients based on their previous purchasing patterns at the supermarket.

Future freebies throughout the summer will be allocated using the same method, rewarding customers whose shopping history aligns with the products being offered.

Each weekly promotion follows an identical format, giving shoppers until the following Wednesday at midnight to claim their prize in-store.

Shama Wilson, Tesco’s group membership and loyalty director, said: “Clubcard unlocks the best value at Tesco, and we are always looking for more ways to reward our members.

“Over the coming weeks we will be giving away Tesco and branded products that our customers love just in time for the World Cup, kicking off with Sensations.

Ms Wilson urged shoppers to navigate to the Clubcard section within their app to check whether they have been selected for this week’s offer.

For those who missed out on the Sensations giveaway, the retailer confirmed that millions more coupons featuring different products will be distributed every Thursday throughout the summer months.

Around 97 per cent of shoppers are signed up to at least one supermarket scheme, according to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
