Tesco has rolled out its largest Freebie Thursday promotion to date, making five million stonebaked pizzas available to selected Clubcard members from today.

The giveaway marks the final round of the supermarket’s six‑week campaign, and customers are being urged to check the Tesco app to see whether they have received a coupon.

For the concluding week, Tesco has doubled the number of freebies on offer, increasing the total from 2.5 million to five million.

Across the full campaign, the retailer has issued 13 million coupons for products including Walkers Sensations and Pizza Express dough balls.

Customers who receive a coupon can choose from seven stonebaked pizzas: Mighty Meat Feast, BBQ Chicken, The Hawaiian, American Pepperoni, Pesto Veggie, Classic Margherita and Four Cheese Feast.

Each normally costs £3.30. Selected Clubcard members have until midnight on Wednesday, July 22 to redeem their coupon.

Shama Wilson, Tesco’s group membership and loyalty director, said: “We hope that we have brought fun to the weekly shop for our Clubcard members.

“With 5 million coupons available in this final week, this is your best chance ever to bag a coupon.” She encouraged customers to use the Tesco app to keep track of personalised offers and rewards.

The pizza giveaway comes ahead of another summer initiative aimed at families.

From July 20, children will be offered free apples at checkouts in more than 800 larger Tesco stores and 77 larger Express stores.

The scheme, which runs until August 30, is designed to provide healthy snacks during the school holidays. Children accompanying Click and Collect customers at selected stores will also be eligible.

Tesco first introduced the free‑fruit initiative in 2016 as an alternative to sweets at the checkout

The retailer says the programme forms part of a wider commitment to help one million schoolchildren access free fruit and vegetables through school and community schemes by July 2029.

During term time, its Free Fruit and Veg for Schools programme supports more than 500 schools.

Research by Felix, the charity formed through the merger of FareShare and The Felix Project, shows that 41 per cent of local charities in its food‑redistribution network have seen demand rise over the past year.

Tesco is also continuing its Kids Eat Free offer in cafés throughout the summer holidays.
