Britons looking for quick grocery delivery now have more options, with two of the country’s biggest supermarkets ramping up their presence on Deliveroo.
Tesco has gone live on the platform across the entire country, while Aldi announced it will trial on-demand delivery from eight stores starting on October 6.
The Aldi partnership is modelled on the discounter’s existing tie-ups with DoorDash, Deliveroo’s parent company, in the US and Australia.
Deliveroo riders will arrive at stores to pick, pack and deliver orders themselves, letting Aldi staff concentrate on running the shop.

Customers will be able to browse roughly 2,000 products through the app, from fresh fruit and veg to meat, dairy, bread, household basics and even Specialbuys, all at low prices.
Chief executive officer at Aldi UK, Giles Hurley, said: “We’ve always been committed to bringing low prices to as many people as possible, and this partnership with Deliveroo allows us to do exactly that without changing how our stores operate.
“The DoorDash model has been incredibly popular with Aldi customers in Australia and the United States, and we know from our previous trial there is clear demand for more affordable groceries on a rapid delivery platform in the UK. By working with Deliveroo, we can give more people access to Aldi quality and value, however they choose to shop with us.”

Over at Tesco, the nationwide Deliveroo rollout now covers 75 towns and cities, following a successful trial across 147 stores. Shoppers can order thousands of products between 7am and 10pm, with deliveries arriving in as little as 20 minutes — and they’ll still earn Clubcard points and access Clubcard Prices.
Rapid delivery director at Tesco, Ishna Berry, said: “Customers are looking for more flexibility than ever in how they shop with Tesco. Launching nationwide on Deliveroo gives millions more people another convenient way to shop Tesco, bringing our great quality, value and range to even more customers, alongside the added benefits of Clubcard Prices and earning Clubcard points.
“Whether it’s a forgotten ingredient, a last-minute family meal or a quick top-up shop, customers now have even more ways to get products delivered when and where they need them.”
Chief revenue officer at Deliveroo, Rob Harris, said: “Since our trial launched, it’s been clear just how much customers value having Tesco on Deliveroo, so we’re delighted to now be taking that nationwide.

Tesco’s push onto Deliveroo builds on the impressive momentum of its own rapid delivery service, Whoosh, which saw sales jump by 51 per cent last year. Around 1.5 million customers now use Whoosh, which operates from roughly 1,800 stores and reaches more than 70 per cent of the UK population, delivering in as little as 20 minutes.
As for Aldi, the eight-store trial kicking off on October 6 is just the beginning — the discounter is planning a full nationwide rollout in early 2027.
