A popular walking destination has been cordoned off after two suspected grenades were found, police have said.
The devices were discovered shortly before 08:00 BST by a member of the public at the side of Rivington reservoir on the border of Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Lancashire Police said officers from the bomb disposal unit have been called.
The force warned people to avoid the area, which was expected to have been busy during the Easter weekend.
In a social media post, Lancashire Police said: “There is a cordon in place at the moment and we would ask you to stay away from the area for now while we deal with the situation.”
