Aldi’s 2026 Christmas advert drops tonight at 8pm, and this year sees the latest instalment in the adventures of Kevin the Carrot.

Britons will follow the iconic Aldi Christmas character and his daughter, Chantenay, as they embark on an emotional quest after realising their cherished pet, Cauli Dog, has vanished.

The much-anticipated ad kicks off with a touching moment as Chantenay makes a heartfelt wish for the safe return of the family’s floret companion.

Father and daughter waste no time getting to work, plastering ‘lost’ posters around the neighbourhood before stumbling upon a trail of tiny paw prints leading into a snow-covered wilderness.

But their search doesn’t go smoothly. A helpful but hopelessly misguided scarecrow sends the pair in the wrong direction, and they end up coming face-to-face with what looks like a terrifying grizzly bear — only for it to turn out to be nothing more than an adorable squirrel.

Paw prints ultimately lead the duo back to their own home, where the entire Carrot family turns the place upside down before hearing gentle snoring from inside a Christmas cracker.

The heart-wrenching advert concludes with a happy ending: the dog is found and Chantenay’s festive wish comes true. The clip wraps up with Aldi’s seasonal tagline: “All You Want For Christmas”.

Kevin the Carrot first appeared in 2016 and has been a staple in Aldi’s Christmas marketing ever since. He has appeared in seasonal adverts and viewers have been introduced to his family over the years.

Chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: “Christmas is all about moments that bring loved ones together.

“This year, Kevin and Chantenay are on a festive ‘pawsuit’ to bring Cauli Dog home, reminding us that the real magic of Christmas is being together with the people, and pets, we love. We hope their adventure warms hearts across the nation.”

Aldi has been teasing the new advert in recent days. RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard was spotted in a dramatic cauliflower coat and a Cruella-inspired wig.

Aldi fueled speculation by sharing additional ‘caught on camera’ footage online.

This is not the first retailer to release its 2026 Christmas advert, with John Lewis sharing its own earlier this week. Sam Fender provides the soundtrack to the Dame Kristin Scott Thomas story. The three-minute film stars the Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning actress as Gloria, a grandmother doing her best to navigate the anxiety of choosing meaningful presents for her grandchildren.
