Stockport County have signed former Hatters striker Tanto Olaofe on loan from Charlton Athletic for the rest of the season.

Olaofe spent two and a half years with Stockport, scoring 37 goals in 121 games, before joining Charlton last summer for a fee in excess of £1m.

But after scoring only once for the Addicks in 25 games, the 26-year-old former Millwall academy product is heading back to Edgeley Park.

“It’s brilliant to be able to welcome Tanto back to the club,” manager Dave Challinor told the club’s website, external.

“He’s a player we didn’t want to lose in the summer, but his move was a real good news story for our football club in taking a player from League Two up into the Championship.

“As can happen, sometimes things don’t go to plan, so to be able to take advantage of that and bring him back was something we were all really keen to do.”

Winger Jayden Fevrier has moved the other way from Stockport to Charlton on loan for the rest of the campaign.
